Determine the Adjustment Direction
Before adjusting acetate eyeglass frames, you first need to determine the direction of adjustment. Generally, if the nose pads are too tight or too loose, you need to adjust their horizontal position; if the ear hooks are too tight or too loose, you need to adjust their vertical position.
Adjusting the Nose Pads
Adjust the horizontal position of the nose pads. Generally, if the nose pads are too tight, it will cause discomfort. You should gently push the left and right nose pads outward with your fingers to increase the distance between them; conversely, if the nose pads are too loose, it will cause the glasses to be unstable. You should gently push the left and right nose pads inward with your fingers to decrease the distance between them.
Adjusting the Vertical Position of the Nose Pads
If the nose pads are too tight or too loose, you can use nose pad pliers or flat-head pliers to adjust their height so that they fit comfortably against your nose.
Adjusting the Ear Hooks
Adjust the vertical position of the ear hooks. Generally, ear hooks that are too tight or too loose will cause discomfort. If the ear hooks are too tight, use flat-nose pliers to gently bend them to make them fit more comfortably against your ears. If they are too loose, use your fingers to gently pull them downwards to make them fit better.
Adjust the horizontal position of the ear hooks. If the ear hooks are not asymmetrical, use your fingers or flat-nose pliers to gently adjust their position so that they fit your head perfectly.
Precautions: Adjust the frames gently; do not use excessive force to avoid damaging them.
When adjusting the vertical position, always use flat-nose pliers or nose pad pliers; do not forcibly twist the nose pads with your fingers.
If you are still uncomfortable after adjusting them yourself, it is recommended to seek help from an optician or a professional optometry center.
